Power tariff hike: Citizens Council calls strike in Tral tomorrow

Tral 18 Nov: Citizen Council in Tral has called for the strike in the Sub-district tomorrow against the alleged hike in the monthly electricity bills.
A press release issued by the Council reads , “during the meeting between Citizens Council Tral and Traders federation Tral, it was unanimously decided that people of Sub District Tral will observe complete shutdown tomorrow,19 Nov against the hike in power tariff without any communication to the consumers.”
One of the members told Arsing State, “as it is known to everyone that from last one year people of Jammu and Kashmir are facing an economic slowdown, which makes it difficult to pay the electricity Bills on the revised hike.”
Meanwhile, Chairman Citizens Council Tral Farooq Trali said the hike in electricity bills is not acceptable.
He said that “it was decided jointly in a meeting that the Consumers of Sub District Tral will assemble at the premises of Khankha Faizpana Tral at 10 am to mark the protest and all business establishments will remain closed.”
