Polling parties dispatched for last Phase in Anantnag District

 Anantnag 18 December: Ahead of Phase VIII (last phase) District Development Council (DDC) elections and Panchayat/ULB Bye Elections, polling parties along with poll material were dispatched today from the designated Distribution Centres under the supervision of Nodal officer poll material Mr. Shahnawaz Ahmad and BDO Bijbihara Mr. Talat Ahmad Wani.

Under this phase, polling will be held for Bijbihara DDC seat, Panch and Sarpanch vacancies (where ever necessary) in this block and ULB vacancies (where ever necessary) in the Municipal Committee  Bijbihara on 19th of   December, 2020.

For DDC constituency Bijbihara, 8 candidates are in the fray whose political fate will be decided by 44499 electors.

Meanwhile, District Panchayat Election Officer, Mr.K.K.Sidha, along with Deputy DPEO reviewed the arrangements and Basic Minimum Facilities (BMF’s) in the Polling stations like accommodation for polling staff, food,bedding, heating and lighting facilities, provision of drinking water, etc besides facilities for specially-abled voters. The DPEO exhorted for facilitating every basic amenity in the Polling stations so that voters, as well as polling staff, may not face any kind of inconvenience.

All the arrangements for facilitating smooth conduct of polls for this phase have been put in place.
