Police sponsored district PENCAK SILAT championship held at Pampore
Awantipora 05 Feb: District Pencak Silat Association in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Police held two days district level championship of the players at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Pampore.
In the said two days championship 220 players of different age groups participated.
SSP Awantipora Shri Tahir Saleem-JKPS as chief guest during the closing ceremony of the event had detailed interaction with the players and expressed that Jammu and Kashmir Police is on fore front in organizing various sports events as it brings positive energy in the youth, brings sports spirit, competitive spirit and good health.
He further stated that more sports activities shall be organized in the Police District Awantipora in future.
Organizing secretary District Pencak Silat Association Shri Sajad Ahmad Bhat, Tehsildar Pampore Shri Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-din -KAS, SDPO Pampore Shri Imtiyaz Ahmad-JKPS, DYSP Shri Javaid Ahmad -JKPS and SHO Pampore also participated in the closing ceremony presentation.
Winning players were felicitated with medals and appreciation certificates.
Trophies were presented to the organizers of the event and guest of honor. Refreshment was also served to all the participants.
The championship was aimed at developing better Police Public relationship and was held under Civic Action Programme of Jammu and Kashmir Police.
