Police seize 45 Vehicles involved in Illegal Mining in Budgam
Budgam , March 26 : In continuation of its ongoing drive against illegal mining, Police in Budgam have intensified efforts to combat illegal mining activities in the district and seized 45 vehicles used in illegal excavation and transportation of minerals which includes “27 Tippers, 16 Tractors and 02 JCBs” from the areas Bonhama, Qumroo, Chadoora, Badran, Magam, Hard Panzoo and Narbal.
Additionally, 14 FIRs have been registered against individuals engaged in these unlawful practices.
This proactive approach to curb illegal mining has been actively taken up by all Police Stations of the district along with the Department of Geology and Mining. Also, authorities imposed heavy fines against those involved in illegal mining.
These actions, underscore the commitment of J&K Police to curb illegal mining and preserve environmental integrity in the district.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding illegal mining activities in their neighbourhood. Budgam Police assures strict action against the violators as per law.
