Police seek vigilance clearance for promotion of 95 Inspectors to DSPs

Jammu : The Jammu and Kashmir Police Headquarters has initiated the process for promotion of Inspectors of the General Executive Cadre as Deputy Superintendents of Police under the promotion quota and has sought vigilance clearance for a total of 95 Inspectors.In an official communication issued from Police Headquarters Jammu, the Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone and Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone have been asked to furnish vigilance clearance or non-involvement certificates for the concerned officers. In reference to the subject cited above, a proposal regarding Inspectors is to be forwarded to the Government Home Department for filling vacant posts of DSPs under the promotion quota.

Accordingly, concerned requested to obtain and provide vigilance clearance/non-involvement certificates concerning any departmental enquiries or criminal cases pending, if any, during their service. Additionally, details of punishments (major/minor) imposed over the last five years for each Inspector (list enclosed) should be shared with this Headquarters for onward submission to the Government Home Department for further necessary action.Further, the genuineness and validity of category certificates are to be verified from the respective issuing authorities. Specific comments should be provided on whether these Inspectors are entitled to category benefits in their present rank, in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Government of J&K, Social Welfare Department vide communication No. SW/PSP/04/2017 dated 16th July 2020 .
