Police Distributes Sports Uniforms & Footballs Among 15 Football Teams

Awantipora 14 October 2020: 7-A side football tournament namely “HABBA KHATOON FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT” has been organized by Awantipora Police with the inaugural match played on 20th September at Habba Khatoon Football ground Chandhara Pampore between Ithad FC Pampore and Habba Khatoon FC Chandhara, in which SSP Awantipora as chief guest formally announced the said tournament.

32 teams participated in the said tournament consisting of total 352 players and 30 matches were played on a daily basis. Out of the 32 participating teams, 15 teams belong to Police District Awantipora.

In order to boost the sports activities in the area, SSP Awantipora Shri Tahir Saleem -JKPS distributed uniform among all the players of 15 participating teams of police District Awantipora and 01 football also among each team.

Moreover, on the request of the participating players, 04 number of illumination lights for installation of the stadium have been distributed among the organizers as well as 01 water point has been installed in the said football ground at Chandhara.

Speaking on the occasion on the final match today between Khanmoh FC vs Lasjan FC, SSP Awantipora said that sports is very important for the overall development of an individual as it keeps us away from negative thoughts as well as is important to channelize the youth energy in the right direction.

SSP Awantipora expressed that having a good sports spirit and competitive spirit is important for individual and Nation development.

He also expressed that Jammu and Kashmir Police are committed to provide a platform for sports activities for the youth and more such activities shall be organized in the future in Police District Awantipora.
