Police, CRPF Conduct Flash CASO in Srinagar’s Abi Guzar Area
Srinagar, Feb 4:A flash Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was carried out on Wednesday in the Abi Guzar area and adjoining localities of Srinagar by Srinagar Police in coordination with personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force.
Officials said the joint operation, involving the 132 Battalion of the CRPF, was conducted as part of routine security measures aimed at strengthening area domination and maintaining heightened vigilance in sensitive pockets of the city.
During the operation, security personnel carried out searches at multiple locations, including commercial establishments and nearby residential areas. Movement in the locality was briefly regulated to facilitate thorough checking, officials added.
Authorities said the exercise was conducted in a calibrated manner to deter any potential threats and to reassure residents about the prevailing security situation. No untoward incident was reported during the operation.
After completion of the search, security presence in the area was normalised. Officials reiterated that such area-based security drills are being conducted periodically in Srinagar as part of preventive measures to maintain law and order, and stressed that public cooperation remains vital for ensuring peace and stability in the city.
