Police arrests two drug peddlers in Anantnag; Psychotropic substance recovered

Anantnag, April 16 : Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Anantnag and recovered Psychotropic substance from their possession.

Officers from Police Station Anantnag during Naka checking at Pethbugah Dialgham arrested one drug peddler namely Altaf Ahmad Ganie S/O Gul Mohd Ganie resident of Sichen Dialgham and recovered 120 tables of Alprsafe, 88 capsules of Proxwel and 45 tables of Anxit from his possession.
Another police party from police station Anantnag during routine checking at KP road Anantnag apprehended a drug peddler along with 18 Codeine phosphate bottles, 9 of Welcyrex bottles and 5500 Rs of cash. The accused has been identified as Manzoor Ahamd Khan S/O Ghulam Mohd Khan resident of Gopalpora Mattan.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.93 and 94 of 2021 respectively under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Anantnag and further investigation has been initiated.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighborhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt with as per law.
