PM Modi Hails Republic Day Celebrations, Calls Parade a Symbol of India’s Unity and Strength

New Delhi, January 26: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday hailed the Republic Day celebrations, saying that the nation marked the occasion with great enthusiasm and a deep sense of national pride.

Sharing glimpses of the grand Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path, the Prime Minister said the event showcased the strength of India’s democracy, the richness of its heritage and the unity that binds the country together. He described the celebrations as a powerful display of patriotism and collective spirit.

In a series of posts on X, Shri Modi said that Kartavya Path witnessed a magnificent parade reflecting the ideals and aspirations of the nation. He said the Republic Day celebrations highlighted India’s journey as a vibrant democracy and its commitment to shared national values.

The Prime Minister also said that India was privileged to host the President of the European Council, António Costa, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, as chief guests for the Republic Day celebrations. He noted that their presence underscored the growing strength of the India–European Union partnership and reflected India’s commitment to shared democratic values. He added that the visit would further strengthen cooperation and engagement between India and Europe across multiple sectors.

Highlighting the defence segment of the parade, Shri Modi said that the Republic Day celebrations showcased India’s formidable security apparatus, reflecting the nation’s preparedness, technological capabilities and unwavering commitment to safeguarding its citizens. He said the parade offered a glimpse into the strengthening capabilities of India’s security forces, which continue to remain a source of pride for the nation.

The Prime Minister further said that the celebrations also presented a vivid display of India’s cultural mosaic. He noted that the parade celebrated the country’s diversity through colourful performances and tableaux, reflecting the rich and varied cultural heritage of India.

In one of his posts, the Prime Minister wrote, “India celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm and pride. The magnificent parade at Kartavya Path showcased the strength of our democracy, the richness of our heritage and the unity that binds our nation together.”

The 77th Republic Day celebrations brought together diplomatic significance, military strength and cultural vibrancy, offering a comprehensive reflection of India’s democratic spirit and national identity.
