PDP spokesperson Harbaksh Singh condemns restrictions on Martyr’s day

Srinagar,13th July: People’s Democratic Party spokesperson Dr Harbaksh Singh today paid glowing tributes to the July 13,1931 martyrs and condemned the administration for not allowing mainstream parties to visit the Mazar-i-Shohdah.

He said that the martyr’s day was commemorated every year from decades and this day was observed as a government holiday in Jammu and Kashmir.

He said that the present regime has done away with the holiday and also with commemorative functions at the graveyard.

“PDP which stands for restoration of special status has reiterated its resolve today to strive for restoration of peace and dignity in J&K,”

He said that in democratic set up people have the right to pray for the deceased and hold commemoration for those who have struggled for rights of the people.
