PDD team conducts raids, seizes illegal power appliances in Khanda

Budgam, Nov 15, 2020: To stop overloading power feeders and give relief to people from unscheduled power cuts, the power development department [PDD] Budgam wing conducted raids in many areas that come under Khanda receiving station and seized illegal boilers, heaters, and other electric appliances.

The teams of PDD conducted raids from early morning in many areas to minimize the power load due to illegal heaters and other electric appliances.

The drive has been launched to seize illegal electric appliances in the area, with an aim to reduce power load which is resulting in unscheduled power curtailments, we conducted raids in many areas which come under Khanda receiving station’’ PDD official said.

Earlier residents of many villages blamed PDD for unscheduled power cuts, which irks the residents of the area. They said that we are not receiving sufficient electricity which was earlier provided to us. We have never seen such type of power cuts in the past years they added.

Meanwhile, the PDD dept said that they will continue with such drives, in different areas in the coming days to reduce the use of illegal use of electricity and whosoever found in the wrong will be dealt strictly according to the law “he added.

Another PDD official said that we have disconnected several illegal connections during the raids and warned the defaulters that strict action will be taken against those who will be found involved in such practice in the future.
