One militant killed in Sopore gunfight, operation on
A militant has been killed in an ongoing gunfight with government forces in Warpora village of northern Kashmir’s Sopore in Baramulla district.
Sources said that one militant has been killed in the encounter that broke out late Thursday night. However, they said that the identity of the slain militant is yet to be ascertained.
The gunfight broke out after army’s 22 RR, and SOG of Jammu and Kahsmir police launched a cordon-and-search operation in the area. “As the CASO was going on the hiding militants fired on the forces triggering a gunfight.”
The Sopore sub-district administration has imposed restrictions under sec 144 CRPC in entire Sub-division with the apprehensions of law and order problems.
The authorities have also suspended mobile internet service in entire Sopore.
