Omar Abdullah Reaffirms Commitment to Ganderbal, Assures Full Support for Amarnath Yatra
Ganderbal, June 21: Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, during a public address in Ganderbal, reiterated his deep commitment to the constituency, stating that his continued representation of the region stems from a sense of moral responsibility toward those who elected him.
“The people of Ganderbal placed their trust in me by electing me as their MLA. I feel morally bound to serve them. While my responsibilities extend across Jammu and Kashmir, I will never turn my back on the people of Ganderbal,” he said.
Responding to criticism directed at legislators, Abdullah defended the performance and integrity of elected MLAs in the Union Territory. “Our MLAs were elected for a full five-year term and include capable individuals who are delivering on the ground. It’s unfortunate that deliberate efforts are being made to undermine them. Let those who criticize be ready to present their own record to the people, just as our MLAs will,” he stated.
On preparations for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra, Abdullah expressed confidence in the overall arrangements and underlined the respective responsibilities of the administration. “Pilgrims will have a good experience. Security falls under the domain of the Lieutenant Governor. The rest — including medical facilities and infrastructure — is our responsibility, and we are ensuring everything is in place,” he assured.
