NPP Supremo initiates quick action with J&K leadership for restoration of statehood & FRs of Permanent Residents
Jammu: Prof.BhimSingh, Chief Patron, J&K National Panthers Party & Executive Chairman, State Legal Aid Committee, J&K held a meeting of several Sr. Advocates and NPP activists to work out a joint action plan to start a movement in J&K for the restoration of the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir which was founded by Maharaja Gulab Singh in 1846. Gilgit-Baltistan, Ladakh, and entire Jammu and Kashmir were consolidated as a state of Jammu and Kashmir. This situation continued until 1947. Pakistani Army invaded J&K with the hired intruders from outside and forcibly occupied POK which Pakistan has named as ‘Azad Kashmir’. This includes Muzaffrabad and Mirpur etc. comprising an area of 4600 sq. miles.
Pakistan Army occupied Gilgit & Baltistan. The legitimate territory of J&K comprises about 32,000 sq. miles. China forcibly and by fraud extended its occupation over an area of 5000 sq. miles in the Gilgit region which was handed over to China under a fraudulent agreement. This area is still occupied by China which Pakistan had gifted to China.
Prof.Bhim Singh said that Pakistan refused to obey the resolution/direction/order of the Security Council dated 13.01.1948. The Security Council has directed Pakistan to withdraw from all occupied areas of Jammu and Kashmir Territory. Pakistan refused and till today Pakistan is occupying the territory of J&K including Gilgit & Baltistan by force in violation of Security Council Resolution.
The present situation is that Govt. of India headed by BJP has demolished the status of J&K and converted J&K as a Union Territory. This has weakened the position of India in the Security Council. NPP has constituted a 13-member committee of senior leaders which shall talk to other political parties in J&K with a clear mission for restoration of status of Jammu and Kashmir as it existed before August 5, 2019. Secondly, the leadership of Panthers Party has also press for restoration of Permanent Residents’ Status (Statehood) for all the permanent residents of J&K who were lawful of residents of J&K before 1950 when Constitution of India was promulgated and J&K granted special status to its residents. Prof.Bhim Singh has initiated discussion with the leadership of all recognized political parties operating in J&K.
