Awantipora: A newly constructed hospital building in Hariparigam area of Awantipora Kashmir has turned dilapidated as the concerned officials failed to start it for public.
A group of locals told Arising State that a hospital building was constructed, few years back, with huge amount of money, but was abandoned, soon after its completion.
They said that as the building was completed, the concerned dept failed to make it functional for public conveniences, due to which it turned dilapidated with each passing day.
Zahoor Ahmad, a local resident while talking to Arising State rued that “many years have passed since the building was constructed, but authorities failed to manage it, due to which windows, doors, washroom, power fitting and other things suffered damage.”
He said that “the building is being used by the drug addicts, due to which girl students, studying in nearby Higher Secondary feel insecure, while travelling through this place.”
Another resident, Abdul Rashid Rather has said that windows, window panes, doors and other things are damaged in the hospital.
He said that concerned officials should at least come to the spot to verify the facts, and to decide its fate.
The locals said that some of the officials have once or twice visited here, but have later forgotten to visit the hospital, due to which hospital turned pathetic.
They sought immediate intervention of authorities into the matter, and demanded that building should either be renovated for public conveniences or should be ‘dismantled’.
