MY Bharat Srinagar Organises International Women’s Day Programme

8 March, 2026, Srinagar : Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) Srinagar, in collaboration with Sports Authority of India under the SAI Asmita Khelo India initiative, organised a programme to mark International Women’s Day at Gindun Stadium today.
Around 600 girl students from different educational institutions across the district participated in the event and took part in various sports and recreational activities aimed at promoting physical fitness and encouraging participation of young women in sports.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Director, MY Bharat Srinagar, Shri Pradeep Kumar, highlighted the importance of encouraging young women to actively participate in sports and other public activities.
MLA Lal Chowk, Shri Ahsan Pardesi attended the programme as Chief Guest. Addressing the participants, he spoke about the significance of International Women’s Day and encouraged students to pursue their goals with confidence and determination.
The programme was conducted in coordination with the office of the Chief Education Officer and with the support of the District Sports Officer and technical staff, who facilitated the organisation of sports competitions.
Competitions held during the programme included 100-metre, 200-metre and 400-metre races, tug of war and several recreational games.
The event was supported by Bharat Scouts and Guides and Shogul Event Organisation, led by Imran Khan.
