Missing man’s skeleton recovered after 2 years in Vilgam Kupwara woods

A missing man’s skelton was recovered by the locals in Hangnikote forests in Vilgam area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district ,according to the reports.

Sources said that the villagers while collecting mushrooms in the forest spotted the human skelton along with an Identity card.

The details of the card reveal the identity of deceased as Mohammad Akram Mir (70) son of Abdul Aziz Mir of Sharkoot Vilgam.

According to the locals, Mir was an employee of Sheep Husbandry Department and had gone missing on 22 May 2017.In this connection a missing report was also  lodged at police station Vilgam, by the family of the deceased.

A police team and the army’s 15 RR rushed to the spot soon after the news about the skeleton spread in the area.

SDPO Handwara ,Tariq Mahmood said that a Forensic Team from police has been dispatched to the spot. “All the relevant things will be collected by the team,” he said. He further requested  people not to circulate fake pictures of the skeleton.
