Militant hideout busted in South Kashmir’s Tral

Awantipora, 03 March: Awantipora police on Wednesday claimed to have busted a militant hideout in Tral area of South Kashmir.

As per the police press release, “Upon information of militant hideout in the forest area of Seer/ Pastoona, Police along with 42 RR and 180 Bn CRPF launched a search operation in the said area.”

“During search one hideout of proscribed outfit Hizb-ul-Mujahideen was busted and subsequently destroyed.”

The press release reads that “the size of the hideout is approximately 5 ft × 7ft ×4 ft, while incriminating material of proscribed outfit Hizb-ul-Mujahideen and other material like utensils, food items etc have been recovered from the said hideout.”

An official said that the whole material has been taken into Police custody for investigation purpose.

He said that a Case FIR number 14/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Tral.
