MIB Tableau at Republic Day Parade Highlights India’s Storytelling Heritage and WAVES Vision
New Delhi, January 26: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) showcased India’s rich storytelling tradition and its growing global influence in media and entertainment through a vibrant tableau at the Republic Day Parade held at Kartavya Path on Monday.
Titled “Bharat Gatha: Shruti, Kriti, Drishti,” the MIB tableau traced the journey of Indian storytelling from ancient oral traditions to contemporary digital platforms, cinema and broadcast media. The display reflected the cultural evolution of the nation and underlined India’s emergence as a global content powerhouse.
The tableau depicted how storytelling in India began with oral traditions such as folklore, epics and classical narratives, gradually evolving into print, radio, television and modern cinema. It showcased the seamless blend of India’s civilisational heritage with modern technology, highlighting how traditional narratives continue to inspire new-age storytelling formats.
A key feature of the tableau was the focus on WAVES, presented as a global platform driving India’s leadership in the media and entertainment sector. WAVES was highlighted as a catalyst for innovation, cultural diplomacy and international collaboration, positioning India as a hub for creative industries.
The MIB tableau stood out for its artistic design and thematic depth, offering a visual representation of India’s past, present and future in the field of storytelling. It reinforced the message of cultural continuity while embracing modern innovation, in line with the broader vision showcased during the 77th Republic Day celebrations.
