MAYOR AND HIS TEAM KICK STARTS CONSTRUCTION OF NALLAH IN R.R.L, ALSO DISILTING WORK IN WARD NO. 14 & 31

Jammu :Continuing his endeavour to provide best possible development & civic amenities to the citizens of Jammu, Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation alongwith S. Surinder Chowdhry Councillor of ward no. 29 today on 04/03/2021 kick started the much needed construction work of nallah within the complex of regional Research Laboratory Canal road Jammu. Sardar J.P. Singh, Superintending Engineer R.R.L, Sh. Rakesh kumar Gupta, Superintending Engineer, Sh. Ashwani Seth, Executive Engineer, Sh. Ashwani Khajuria , AEE and other supervisory staff of UEED as well as various functionaries of R.R.L alomgwith Sh. Atul Bakshi, Sh. Karan Sharma & other prominent inhabitants of Bakshi Nagar, Shakti Nagar area  were also remained present there. Speaking on the occasion, Mayor said that it was the long pending demands of the management of this prestigious institution as the nallah flowing from upper areas of Bakshi Nagar, Rehari etc. towards R.R.L causes havoc during rainy season as it is a low laying area and the staff members as well as school children studying in the institution being run by R.R.L management faces great hardships due to dilapidated condition of nallah, the construction work of which has now been started today by the UEED with an estimate cost of Rs. 30 lacs only. He directed the concerned Engineering wing to complete the work within stipulated time period by applying best quality material for its long durability.

        Later, Mayor alongwith Sh. Narinder Singh Jamwal Hon’ble Chairman of Health & Sanitation Committee Sh. Parmod Kapahi Councillor of ward no. 14, S. Sucha Singh Councillor of ward no. 31 also kick started the dislting work of nallahs/deep drains in Bhagwati Nagar, Puran Nagar and its adjoining localities. S. Harvinder Singh I/c Chief Transport Officer, Sh. Hira Lal Khajuria I/c sanitary Inspector alongwith Supervisory Staff of Transport/ Sanitation wing of JMC as well as prominent inhabitants of ward no. 14 & 31 were also accompanied the Mayor who told the gathering that this year, the JMC has already taken up the job of disilting of all the major nallahas of the three zones well in advance by applying sufficient no. of  machinery and the remaining deep drains by engaging labourers so that all the disilting work may be conducted thoroughly well before rainy season and the general public may not face any type of inconvenience and hardships which they often faces due to overflowing of the nallahas especially during the rainy season. Sh. Narinder Singh, Chairman of Health & Sanitation Committee also spoke and told that keeping in view the past experience, JMC has decided that the machinery/laboures deployed for disilting of nallahas & deep drains in the particular  area/ward will not be withdrawn until the complete disilting be done upto the entire satisfaction of locals and appeal to all the Councillors as well as inhabitants of the locality to personally monitor the whole operation of disilting at their own level also and can report to JMC if they are not satisfied with the working of the field staff deployed for the disilting process and cooperate with JMC in all the activities being undertaken for making Jammu city neat, clean & green.
