Major Administrative Reshuffle in J&K: 24 IAS and JKAS Officers Transferred

Srinagar, Jun 11 : In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, the Jammu and Kashmir administration on Wednesday announced the transfer and fresh postings of 24 IAS and JKAS officers with immediate effect, aimed at streamlining governance and improving administrative efficiency across the Union Territory.

According to the order , the rejig includes high-level changes across departments and key district roles.

Notable changes include:

  • Akshay Labroo (IAS), previously DC Budgam, is now posted as Deputy Commissioner Srinagar.

  • Dr. Bilal Mohiud Din Bhat (IAS), former DC Srinagar, has been shifted as DC Budgam.

  • Faz Lul Haseeb (IAS) has been appointed Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), and will also serve as CEO, Smart City Srinagar.

  • Anil Kumar Singh (IAS) takes over as Principal Secretary, Social Welfare Department, with additional charge of the Mining Department.

  • Saurabh Bhagat (IAS) moves to the Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, replacing Zubair Ahmad, who is now Commissioner/Secretary, Floriculture, Parks & Gardens.

  • Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary (IAS) has been assigned the Science and Technology Department and will also oversee Civil Aviation.

Several other appointments include reshuffling of Deputy Commissioners, Administrative Secretaries, and heads of mission-oriented projects like the NHM, ICPS, Skill Development, and more.

This wide-ranging reshuffle underscores the administration’s focus on responsive governance and administrative reform under the leadership of the Lieutenant Governor.
