LG Thanks PM Modi, Union Agriculture Minister for Release of PM-KISAN 21st Installment

Srinagar, Oct 7: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Chouhan for releasing the 21st installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme for farmers across Jammu and Kashmir.

In a post on X, the LG’s Office said, “I am extremely grateful to Hon’ble PM Shri @Narendramodi Ji and Hon’ble Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shri @ChouhanShivraj Ji for the advance release of the 21st installment of the PM-KISAN Scheme for the farmers of J&K UT.”

The statement added that approximately ₹171 crore will be credited directly into the bank accounts of around 8.55 lakh eligible farmers in J&K. “This crucial financial support will help farmers sustain their livelihoods and accelerate their agricultural recovery. Our farmers are the backbone of the economy, forming the foundation for growth in other sectors,” the LG’s Office said.

The Lieutenant Governor further reaffirmed that the Government of India remains committed to providing all possible assistance to mitigate the effects of the recent devastating floods and to ensure stability in the lives of the affected population.(KNO)
