Tral, July 30: In a successful wildlife operation, a leopard and its three cubs were rescued from a residential area in Lurgam, Tral after a two-day effort by the Wildlife Department.

The rescue operation began on Tuesday when the wildlife team in Khanagund range of Tral received information about the presence of a leopard along with three cubs inside a house in Lurgam. A team was immediately rushed to the location, where they successfully rescued the three cubs. However, the adult leopard managed to flee the scene.

In response, the department launched a two-day-long operation, setting up traps in the area to capture the leopard safely. On the second day of the operation, the leopard was sighted again and tranquilized by the rescue team.

A wildlife official present at the site confirmed over the phone that the operation concluded successfully this evening, with the leopard and all three cubs rescued without any harm.
