Srinagar, 12 Sep : Security forces successfully recovered a significant amount of ammunition and explosives in the Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir on 11th September 2024.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a joint operation was launched by the Indian Army and Jammu & Kashmir Police in the Keran Sector, Kupwara. The search operation led to the discovery of a substantial cache of arms, including AK-47 ammunition, hand grenades, RPG rounds, Improvised Explosive Device (IED) materials, and other war-like equipment.
This recovery is particularly crucial given the current security environment and upcoming key events in the Union Territory. The intelligence that led to the operation came from a special election observer deployed in J&K, potentially preventing a major incident in North Kashmir.
