Lalpora curve on Tral’s Ourigund road turns dilapidated, locals terrified

Tral, 03 Oct: The residents of Ourigund, Zajikhoved, Nagapathri & Wazilkulnad have expressed resentment over the dilapidated condition of a curve in the Lalpora area of Tral sub-district.
The aggrieved residents have said that they are “facing trouble with each passing day, as the condition of the curve is turning worst now, with no intervention from the concerned authorities.”
One of the residents, Abdul Salam, told Arising State that they have been demanding the govt and authorities since long for the repair of the road , though their collective pleas have not been taken seriously by the authorities concerned over a decade.
He said that road work was done on the maximum portion, however, the said curve was sidelined, which poses a big hurdle to drivers and school children .
Another resident said that the poor condition of the road poses threat to commuters and essential services like ambulances as they can’t reach them in need of an hour.
A delegation of locals said that macadamization and repair work was carried however, this area was neglected.
The residents have demanded that necessary measures be taken by the higher-ups particularly ADC Tral at the earliest.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Tral, Shabir Ahmad Raina told Arising State that he will be visiting the area on Tuesday to look into the matter. He further said that PMGSY authorities have already re-submitted the project.
