Kulgam gunfight:One militant identified, shutdown observed

Kashmir’s Kulgam district is observing a shutdown today against the killings of three militants in a gunfight with the forces on Sunday.

All shops and other commercial establishments are closed while traffic is off the roads.

Three militants, a senior police officer and a soldier were killed in a fierce gunfight in Turigam village yesterday.

One of the slain militants has been identified as Rakib Ahmad Sheikh of Shungipora.

Meanwhile,Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday identified all the three militants killed  in a gunfight with the security forces in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district yesterday.

A spokesman identified one among the three as Raqib Ahmad Sheikh son of Mohammad Amin Sheikh resident of Shiganpora Kulgam.
