Kashmiri Boys Shine in NEET Exam 2020

PULWAMA, October 17: This 18 year old boy from south Kashmirs Pulwama has won laurels after qualifiying the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), which was declared on Friday evening by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
Basit Bilal, son of Bilal Ahmad Khan, a resident of Pulwama in South Kashmir, scored 695 points out of 720, following which Basit won hearts of millions and social media flooded with messages of compliments and best wishes for Basit.
On his achievement Basit gave credits of success to Allah and his parents besides teachers while adding that any dream can come true if one works hard.
He thanked his parents , teachers who supported him and showed him a track and guided him accordingly.
“My family is very excited about my success .He added that he studied from day one as he was aware that points matter in NEET. “I am very happy at the moment and whatever position I will get in my life, my sole motive will be to serve people,” he said.He said that he was not expecting a score like this but, “it’s all because of guidance of teachers, who polished me in achieving my goal.”
“I was however confident that my rank would be good as I attempted all the questions. 695/720 is Alhamdulilah good & I feel proud for being the topper in J&K,” Basit said.
He further said that the situation was challenging it was tough to open the video lectures on 2G speed however, “instead of losing hope we should try to resolve problems even with least resources ,this is how I overcame challenges ‘,’said Basit.
Basit’s father Bilal Ahmad Khan said that he is feeling much happy with the performance of his son and environment is very much festive at their home. “Our neighbours and relatives started visiting us with greetings and blessing,” he said, there are jubilations are all around.
It’s pertinent to mention here that around 15.97 lakh students were registered for the exams. “However, only 13.66 lakh students appeared for the exam out of which 7.71 lakh students have now qualified for admissions.”
Syed Raif Hamid, a resident of Midoora village in Tral sub district, secured 639 points and expressed his happiness on achieving this feat.
He said that he is thankful to his parents & teachers, who helped him timely in qualifying the NEET exams.
He further said that pandemic depressed him a bit, as exams were rescheduled, due to which he was ‘distracted’ from studies for sometime, but later he managed to read “consistently.”
Raif believes that consistency is important for studies and plays a major role in qualifying such competitive exams.
His schooling was done in Mantaqui Memorial School Awantipora. Later he joined higher secondary Noorpora and HOPE classes for coaching.
One more NEET qualifier, Imran Mohi-Ud-Din, Amirabad Tral, secured 633 points, and dedicated his success to his sister.
He said that family support is all what one needs to achieve the feat . His sister played an important role in helping him to qualify the NEET.
He further said that medical profession is noble as it helps individuals to serve the society.
“I was selected for engineeing as well ,however, I prefer to serve people as a doctor. I managed the things.
He also appealed the aspirants to focus on what they have to study and how much they have to study and suggested them to read NCERT books.
Another qualifer, Shahid Rasool (611 points) from Rathsuna village, said that toppers from competitive exams have always motivated and inspired him.
He said that amid economic troubles, his parents and teachers played an important role in motivating him, due to which he achieved the success.
He further said that lack of high speed internet usually irked him and demanded that at least 3g must be restored for the welfare of students.
In his message to parents Shahid said that students must be given freedom to choose subjects they think are important to succeed in life.
A boy from Konjibal Tral, Faizan Hamid, also managed to qualify NEET exams with 610 points, following which he and his whole family were seen happy and excited.
Faizan said that he worked hard all the time and had timely managed the preparation schedule irrespective of the situations.
He thanked Allah, family and teachers especially Irfan Sir for their support from time to time.
He said that he struggled a lot at the time of covid 19 pandemic and 4g ban but has never lost hope, due to which he achieved this feat.
In his message, Faizan appealed the young aspirants to work hard and qualify NEET with confidence & hardwork.
Pertinently, Faizan has done his schooling from Future vision Model School Tral, and did his NEET coaching from Aakash Institute Srinagar, after completing 12th class, from Higher Secondary School Dadasara.
Syed Shahzaib from Midoora secured 572 point and said that family supported him very much both financially as well as emotionally.
He said that he also worked hard and was expecting 650+ rather and added that serving poor motivated him to pursue medicine as a career. Poor people can’t afford highly qualified doctors and this thought made him make up his mind to choose medicine as a career option, said Shahzaib.
He further said that it was challenging to prepare for NEET amid pandemic, the lockdown prevented from attending coaching classes, combined with low internet speed, together it hampered the preparation for the entrance test. In his message to the aspirants he said that whereas hard work is must but not at the cost of health . Proper sleep , minimal use of social media & limited use of books help a person to stay focussed.. “Also, regular mock tests and most importantly stay connected with Allah”, is the only mantra behind every success said Shahzaib.
