Srinagar, 05 June: Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) has expressed sincere gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, along with the Council of Ministers, for issuing the much-awaited order sanctioning a 2% hike in Dearness Allowance (DA), effective from January 2025.

In a statement issued to the press, JKTF Chairman Showkat Ali Beigh lauded the government’s decision, stating that the timely DA hike will ease the financial burden on employees and help them navigate the challenges posed by persistent inflation.

While welcoming this move, the Chairman has humbly requested the LG to kindly consider the long-pending demand for enhancement of House Rent Allowance (HRA) and Children’s Education Allowance (CEA). He emphasized that addressing these genuine concerns would go a long way in ensuring the financial well-being and morale of government employees across the Union Territory.
