J&K Govt extends deadline for annual property returns by 15 days

 Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has granted a last and final 15-day extension for filing Annual Property Returns (APR) for the year 2025 through the online Property Return System (PRS) portal.According to a notification issued by the General Administration Department (Vigilance), employees were earlier directed vide Circular No. 26-JK(GAD) of 2025 dated December 17, 2025, to submit their property returns between January 1 and January 31, 2026. The deadline was subsequently extended from February 5 to February 19, 2026.

The department observed that several employees failed to submit their property returns within the prescribed timeline. It was also noted that some employees registered on the PRS portal but did not complete the submission process, resulting in default\The notification cautions that failure to submit property returns attracts punitive action under the provisions of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Men and Public Servants Declaration of Assets Act and the rules framed thereunder.

Non-submission may also amount to criminal misconduct under the Prevention of Corruption Act, inviting penalties as stipulated in the law. Additionally, defaulting employees will be denied vigilance clearance.Considering the matter, the General Administration Department has decided to provide a final 15-day extension from the date of issuance of the notification for defaulting employees to submit their Annual Property Returns online through the PRS portal (https://prs.jk.gov.in).

Employees facing OTP-related issues have been advised to update their mobile numbers and email IDs on the CPIS portal. For other technical assistance, concerns can be emailed to [email protected] Controlling Officers and Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) have been directed to ensure strict compliance with the filing of property returns by employees under their establishments. Administrative Departments have also been asked to furnish details of employees who fail to submit their Annual Property Returns after the expiry of the extended deadline.The notification was issued by Rahul Sharma (JKAS), Under Secretary to the Government, General Administration Department.
