J&K Announces Winter Vacation Schedule for Schools in Kashmir and Winter-Zone Jammu

Srinagar, Nov 25: The Jammu & Kashmir School Education Department on Tuesday released the winter vacation schedule for all government and recognised private schools up to the Higher Secondary level in the Kashmir Division and winter-zone areas of the Jammu Division.

As per Government Order No. 665-JK (Edu) of 2025, the vacation schedule is as follows:

• Pre-primary (Balvatika): Nov 26, 2025 to Feb 28, 2026

• Classes 1 to 8: Dec 1, 2025 to Feb 28, 2026

• Classes 9 to 12: Dec 11, 2025 to Feb 22, 2026

The order states that all teaching staff must remain available for any academic engagements during the vacation. Teachers have been directed to report back on February 20, 2026 for pre-opening preparations.

The department cautioned that any deviation from the notified schedule by school heads or faculty members will invite strict disciplinary action.
