Jaundice Outbreak in Gotligund Verinag Village

Anantnag: An outbreak of jaundice has been reported in Gotligund Verinag village of South Kashmir’s Anantnag District on Monday.
Sources told Arising State that at least 27 people, among them mostly children, have developed jaundice infection, which is due to contaminated water supplied to them, sources said.
A health official, while informing Arising State, said that 27 cases have tested positive for jaundice in the village, with all patients in stable condition and under close surveillance, officials said.
However, a health official, wishing anonymity, told Arising State that they were in the village today and have collected samples. He confirmed that 27 cases have been found positive in the village, with all patients in stable condition and under close surveillance, he said.
Adding that the CMO Anantnag had visited the village today and advised the people not to panic but to consume boiled water and maintain proper hygiene, he said.
