IUST organizes Awareness programme on the eve of World Mental Health Day

Awantipora, Oct 11: Syed Mantaqui Memorial College of Nursing and Medical technology, a constituent college of Islamic University of Science and Technology Monday organized Mental Health Awareness Programme at PHC Mattan and sub- district hospital Bijbehara, with this year’s theme “Mental health in an unequal world” under the red ribbon club.

While highlighting the importance of creating awareness among general population regarding importance of maintaining mental health Principal of the college, Ms. Asmat Parveen gave a detailed account of the issues pertaining to Mental Health especially during pandemic.

She said that health issues in general and mental health in particular is among the major challenges that the world is presently facing and the need of hour is to work collectively to tackle these issues especially during difficult and challenging situations.

Students of B.Sc Nursing 4th year participated in the awareness programme and delivered health talks on different topics among general population.

Meanwhile, many patients and general public also participated in the awareness campaign.
