International day of forests observed in Shikargah Tral

Tral, 22 March: World forest day was observed on Sunday at Shikargah health resort of Tral in Pulwama district of South Kashmir.
In this connection, an event was organised jointly by the Social forestry, forest protection force, and wildlife department, which was attended by the students and the employees.
During the event, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Pulwama, Manzoor Ahmad Bhat was the chief guest, who urged participants to ensure the protection of the forests for the welfare of human lives.
The officer said that thousands of saplings have been planted in the month of March, with the sole motive to keep the environment clean and favourable.
The function was attended by Range officers and foresters as well, including Wildlife Range Officer Tral, Iqbal Khursheed.
The officials planted several saplings on the spot, in presence of all the participants, to mark International Forests Day, which is being celebrated on the 21st of March every year.
