Gunfight rages in Sopore
Sopore, Jun 06 : Gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Penipora forest area of north Kashmir’s Sopore in Baramulla district.
An official said that a joint team of Army’s 22 RR, CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police laid a cordon and search operation in forest area of Penipora in Zaloora village of Sopore after having credible inputs about the presence of some militants in the area.
As the joint team approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon forces triggering off an encounter.
Meanwhile police official while confirming the details said, gunfight is underway and further details will be shared.
