Gunfight Breaks out in South Kashmir
An encounter broke out between militants and government forces in the Marwal area in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday, according to reports.
According to the reports, a joint team of Police, Army’s, and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Marwal of Pulwama. As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering in an encounter.
The exchange of fire between the joint team and the militants is underway, an official said.
