Govt fails to redress people’s grievances, assembly elections should be conducted soon: SS Channi

Tral , March 11: Senior Congress leader & party general secretary Surinder Singh Channi on Thursday visited Tral area of South Kashmir to express condolence with some bereaved families here.
On the occasion, Singh said, ”he has been visiting the Tral areas for over a week, however, the government has failed to redress the grievances of people here.”
He said that assembly elections should be conducted soon, so that people may be able to choose the local candidate of their choice.”
On senior party leader’s resignation from Congress, Singh said “one who leaves his main party, even when that particular party grooms him and makes his political career, can never be loyal to others.”
He further said,” BJP is trying to create problems for the Congress party, but it will have no impact on the party, as the party is 135 years old and has played a crucial role in India’s freedom movement.”
