Government Degree College Tral Celebrated 8th International Yoga Day
Tral: GDC Tral celebrated International Yoga Day on 21st June 2022 with enthusiastic participation of NSS volunteers, students and faculty members. Preceding the Yoga Day, the college has organized practice sessions on 4th, 18th and 20th June 2022.
On 4th June 2022, experts from Department of Ayush, Unit Tral briefed NSS volunteers and students about the importance of Yoga and exercises on human health, and thereafter held a three-hour long practice session with demonstration of various Asanas as per the common protocol issued by Ministry of Ayush, Govt. of India.
Faculty members, NSS volunteers and students ardently participated in the practice sessions on all the preceding days to acclimatize their bodies to Yogic exercises and Yoga.
On 21st June 2022, an enthralling practice session with demonstration was held. The celebration started with the address by Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad Lone, worthy principal of GDC Tral.
While addressing the participants. Prof. Lone highlighted the importance of exercise in today’s sedentary life style. He explained how Yoga can be beneficial in keeping common life style diseases at bay.
Mr. Umar Rashid Dar (PTI, GDC Tral) imparted Yoga training to all participants during the practice session. The whole programme was organized by NSS Units in collaboration with Department of Physical Education and Sports.
