GDC Tral organises Intra-College Bicycle racing event

Tral: Department of Physical Education & Sports in collaboration with NSS Units of Govt. Degree College Tral organised a Bicycle racing event under the ambit of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav on eve of World Bicycle Day.

The cycle race was flagged off by the senior faculty member Prof. Bashir Ahmad Shah who was accompanied by faculty members, officials from Police station Tral and Sub district Hospital Tral.

The bicycle race started from Main Gate of college to Shaldramen and culminated at the college entrance spanning a distance of around 6 Kilometres.

The competition witnessed the participation of 25 male cyclists of various semesters. Throughout the race, cyclists were escorted by police officials, medical staff and two staff members and were cheered by NSS Volunteers stationed at different places.

The 1st position was bagged by Amit Pal Singh (of 2nd Semester), the 2nd position was bagged by Anayat Farooq (of 3rd semester) and the 3rd position was bagged by Rayees Ahmad Sheikh (of 5th semester) who were felicitated with the trophies. All the participants were given the ‘CERTIFICATE OF PARTICIPATION’ to boost their morale and to prepare them for future activities to be undertaken by the college.

Prof. Bashir Ahmad Shah at the end of award giving ceremony highlighted the importance of such events in shaping and developing the personality of students. Besides thanking the organisers of the competition.

He thanked SHO Police Station Tral and BMO Sub District Hospital Tral for their cooperation in making the event a success.
