Gamraj residents in Tral demand road repairs
BASHARAT RASHID
Tral, 19 Jan: The residents of Gamiraj village in Tral sub district have expressed resentment against the government for failing to provide them with road facility.
Eyewitnesses said that the potholes & the accumulation of waste water on the main road of Gamiraj have made the life of villagers miserable.
The aggrieved residents assembled near the village’s Govt. School, and said that concerned authorities have failed to repair the main road of the village, due to which they suffer.
One of the locals Abdul Rashid Khan has said that villagers moved from pillar to post to seek the redressal of their demand, ‘but nothing’ was done.
He said that “work on the road was started some two years back under PMGSY, which was left midway, and was never restarted till the date, due to the reasons better known to concerned authorities.”
Another resident told Arising State that “all other roads in Tral were repaired and macadamized, even in the far off places, but Gamiraj road, which is only 2km far from sub district headquarter, was ignored, even after several reminders.”
The residents sought immediate intervention of higher ups into the matter and demanded road repairs at the earliest.
