Free Dental Health Awareness Camp Held at Faculty of Forestry, SKUAST-Kashmir

Ganderbal 23:-The Office of Dean, Faculty of Forestry, Sher-i-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences (SKUAST), Benhama, Ganderbal, Kashmir in collaboration with REVIVA DENTAL, Habak,Naseembagh conducted a free dental health awareness cum check-up camp in the campus of Faculty of Forestry on 23th of October, 2025 as part of the National Dental Hygiene Monthcelebrations. The event, was presided over by the Prof. Parveiz Ahmad Khan, Senior Faculty who, while welcoming the participants, emphasised the importance of organizing Dental health awareness camps for proactively protecting oral health. Besides, Professor Naseem
Geelani and Prof. Iqhlaq Ahmad Wani and other senior faculty members also participated in
the event. This was followed by a PowerPoint presentation by Dr. Nouman Rashid,Maxillofacial Surgeon on Facial Trauma- prevention and First Aid Measures. He talked in detail on Pre-hospitalization management of accident victims receiving facial injuries. This was followed by a PowerPoint presentation by Dr. Zeenat Shah, Oral Pathologist on Prevention & screening of Oral Cancer. The main significance of this event was the use of Artificial Intelligence, first time in Kashmir, in identification of dental diseases with detailed reporting to the patient via whatsApp within 5 minutes of examination. In the afternoon, oral check-up of a large number of students, faculty members and employees was undertaken by the team.
