Fire engulfs in Pahalgam forests.

Anantnag, October 12: A massive fire broke out on Saturday has engulfed forest compartment number 47 of wildlife in the Mammal area of Pahalgam in south Kashmir’s Anantnag District.
The fire that erupted two days back has spread to nearby areas causing damage to the forest area. Sources said that huge flames could be seen in the forest.
Sources said that from the last three days fire has engulfed wild forest compartment number 47 in the Pahalgam forest range, however, the forest department employees have been pressed into service to douse the flames for the last three days. The areas fall in the forest range of the Pahalgam area.
Talking to Arising state Abdul Raheed Zargar DFO wildlife said that and our efforts are on to douse the fire completely in the area. The area falls in the high altitude of Mamal Pahalgam forest range. He said that our employees are on job to douse the flames of fire which have erupted from the last two days, he said.
