Fire engulfs forest compartment number 58 in Lisser Top of Dooru Anantnag

Anantnag: A massive forest fire broke out in the Dooru area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Sunday evening. While the authorities are putting efforts to douse the flames, locals said the fire broke out in the evening around Lisser Hills (Rakhe Lisser Dooru) and spread to a vast area as the concerned officials failed to douse the flames on time.
Sources said that the fire erupted in compartment number 58 in the Lisser Top Dooru area of Anantnag district. The fire that erupted in compartment number 58 has spread to nearby areas causing damage to the forest area. Sources said that huge flames could be seen in the forest.
Meanwhile talking to Arising state DFO Anantnag Ferooze Ahmad said that the teams have been deputed to the said compartment, while the efforts are on to douse the fire.
