FDP seminar-series commences at GDC Tral

Prof. Feroz Ahmad Wani gives special lecture on NEP 2020

February 25: A special seminar series for the professional development of the faculty has been initiated at Government Degree College Tral on Saturday.

Under the aegis of the College IQAC and The Debates, Seminar and Cultural Commitee, the first lecture of the series was delivered by Prof. Feroze Ahmad Wani, Department of Education on the topic “NEP 2020 – The Broad Contours” in which he deliberated on the key policy proposals of NEP 2020, its implementation, timeline and influence on the education sector.

The inaugural session commenced with the introductory address by Dr Mukhtar Ahmad Dar, Convener Debates, Seminar and Cultural Committee, wherein he highlighted the efficacy of this lecture series for both faculty and institutional growth. He also conducted the proceedings of the programme.

Worthy Principal Prof (Dr) Mohammad Farooq Mir presided over the proceedings of the inaugural session.

While throwing the lecture series open, he stressed upon implementation of this policy at the UG level to ensure holistic development of learners.

In the technical session, Resource person Prof Feroz Ahmad Wani while delivering the first lecture of the series, spoke on the relevance of this policy in the present context.

He also talked about the major reforms as proposed by this policy in the arena of school education that bring the highest quality, equity and integrity into the system and make it more holistic, flexible, multidisciplinary and integrated as well as suited to 21st century needs.

The programme which was attended by the faculty members of all the departments was concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Prof Bilal Ahmad Naikoo.
