Excise officials, religious heads carry awareness campaign in Pulwama

Pulwama: With the motive to prevent the illicit Cultivation of Poppy/Bhung, a team of Excise officials of Excise Range South Kashmir carried out an awareness campaign involving religious heads/Imams in Tengpuna area of Pulwama district and Daramdor tehsil Keegam of Shopian district of Excise Range South Kashmir.

The awareness focussed on involving the religious heads with the purpose to create massive awareness generation, preventive education and with the objective of mobilising the community, promoting awareness and collective initiative towards the prevention of Illicit cultivation of Poppy/Bhung.

As per the official, these awareness campaigns will continue as a focussed preventive measure to curb the menace of Illicit Cultivation of Poppy/Bhung.
