Encounter breaks out in Shopian village

Srinagar, 14 October: Encounter broke out between militants and joint forces in Chakoora village of Shopian in South Kashmir on Wednesday afternoon.
Sources said that a joint team of Police, Army, and CRPF launched a search operation in the Chakoora area.
They said that “as the forces zeroed the suspected spot, the militants hiding there fired upon them, which was retaliated, triggering off an encounter.
As per the latest reports, the gunfight was going on when this report was filed in.
