Dropouts accuse GMC Srinagar of Favoritism & Nepotism in FMPHW/MMPHW Exams

Srinagar, December 15: Several candidates of FMPHW/MMPHW have made serious allegations of purporting Nepotism and Favoritism in GMC Srinagar after GMC Srinagar today shortlisted only 882 candidates out of 5086 candidates for the written Exam.
Talking to the Arising state the candidates made allegations that the GMC Srinagar has violated all the norms and has shortlisted their own people for the written tests.
At least 5086 candidates have applied for the post of NHM and paid a fee of RS 300 per candidate. The GMC Srinagar has advertised a shortlisted notice yesterday and selected only 882 candidates for written test on the basis of matric and Diploma merit.
”The GMC administration is doing injustice with us as they have already mentioned in the first advertisement notice that the written test for all the candidates who have applied will be held subsequently. Then why they dropped us without any written test, quizzed candidates.”
The GMC Srinagar had advertised a notice wide order no 05-NGS of 2020 Dated 16-10-2020 mentioned that “online applications are invited from eligible candidates (belonging to Kashmir division) for engagement as ANM on Academic arrangement basis under SRO 24 of 2019 dated 10-01-2019 and under National Health Mission programme for LD Hospital Srinagar on the terms and conditions listed below:
‘The total number of posts was 61 in which 31 positions were advertised in the Academic Arrangement basis and 30 positions were advertised was under Nation Health Mission. The GMC has mentioned in the advertisement Notice that the qualification should be “ Matric pass with a diploma in FMPHW from a recognized institution and the candidates must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in FMPHW courses. Only female candidates can apply, the notice reads.’
‘Notice also reveals that the selection shall be made purely on the basis of merit obtained by the candidate in the written test (to be held subsequently) and the candidate with higher merit shall be considered for Academic arrangement basis and those with comparatively lower merit shall be considered under National Health Programme.’
Talking to Arising state candidates accused, the GMC Srinagar has done injustice with them adding they have already mentioned in the first advertisement notice that the selection shall be made purely on the basis of merit obtained by the candidate in the written test (to be held subsequently), then why the GMC Srinagar has violated norms and shortlisted only 882 candidates and not held written exam of all the candidates.
However, the medical college Srinagar has advertised a shortlist of candidates yesterday in which they mentioned that the written test will be held on 27-12-2020.
The contractual arrangements are being made on fast track basis in the interest of patient care to ensure smooth functioning of the associated hospitals and this institution does not have the required infrastructure like other recruiting agencies to conduct written test /interview of so many candidates and that too in the present covid pandemic.
Whereas keeping in view the seating capacity available in our institution and Govt Dental College Srinagar it has been decided to restrict the number of candidates to be called for written test in the ratio of 1:15 and for that purpose, the following criteria have been adopted Matric 25points and Diploma 25 points, the order reads.
”We demand justice and also want to take part in the written test. The paper examination must be conducted for all the candidates who have applied, required in the main notification, so that the best candidates may not be left out, candidates said.
Meanwhile, Arising state tried calling several times to GMC Srinagar Principal and Mission Director NHM Mr. Bhupinder Kumar, but they didn’t answer our calls.
