Dr Farooq elected as president Alliance for Gupkar Declaration

Signatories of Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration on Saturday formally structured the Alliance and unanimously elected Dr Farooq Abdullah its President.

Sources said that signatories of People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration met at PDP chiefs residence at Fairview Gupkar, Srinagar wherein political situation across the UT was discussed.

They said during meeting participants put forth their valuable suggestions for consolidating the movement taken up for restoration of Article 370.

At the occasion, the Alliance was given a formal shape during which parties of the Alliance reposed their faith on Dr Farooq Abdullah and elected him as President.

“Also PDP cheif Mehbooba Mufti was elected as vice-president while People’s Conference chairman Sajad Gani Lone as its spokesman”, sources revealed.

“The flag of erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir adopted as flag of People’s Alliance for Gupkar declaration”, sources said.
