DISTRICT POLICE KULGAM ARRESTED THREE BOOTLEGGERS ALONGWITH 240 BOTTLES OF ILLICIT LIQUOR AND CONTRABAND SUBSTANCES

Kulgam: February 02, Continuing its drive against the drug smuggling and its propagators,district Police Kulgam established a Naka on NHW in-between Malpora and Palpora Qazigund where Police Party of Police Post Mirbazar led by I/C PP Mirbazar Sub Inspector Imtiyaz Ahmad under the supervision of SHO Qazigund Insp. Irshad Reshi & SDPO Qazigund Shri. Mohd Shafiq-JKPS intercepted two vehicles bearing registration Nos, JK03C-1284 & JK21A-3124. while checking Police party present were able to recover 240 Bottles of Illicit Liquor and 12 Drums filled with White powder seems to be like Psychotropic Substance. The sample has been taken and will be sent to Forensic Science Laboratory to ascertain whether it is a psychotropic substance or not.

Preliminary investigation reveals the identity of accused persons as:-

1. Farooq Ahmad Bhat S/O Ali Mohammad Bhat R/O Sunbrari Magam Kokernag.

2. Subzar Ahmad Dar S/O Mohd Yousuf Dar R/O Batengo Shoul.

3. Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat S/O Abdul Ahad Bhat R/O Nai Basti Anantnag who were arrested and both the vehicles used in commission of crime were seized.

In this regard, a case FIR No. 21/2020 U/S 48/50 E Act has been registered at Police station Qazigund and an investigation has been initiated.
