District adminstration Pulwama launches film on National Voters Day

Pulwama: Continuing with adoption of  best practices District Adminstration in Pulwama on Monday launched a Film on National Voters Day.

The 6 minute film portrays the unique Systematic Voters Education and Electoral participation( SVEEP ) activities executed during the SVEEP campaign preceding  recent DDC/ ULB Elections .It is important to mention that the SVEEP campaign had  a tremendous impact on voter turnout in the recent elections.

The model adopter during the recent elections SVEEP campaign was a poster campaign through line departments like  pasting of SVEEP messages on OPD tickets, on domestic gas cylinders on Electricity bills and through ICDS.

Meanwhile in order to  celebrate 11th National Voters day, a grand function was today organized by District Election Office at DC office complex Pulwama, where District Election Officer Dr Raghav Langer was the Chief guest.

While highlighting the significance of National Voters Day, the DEO said that voter can change destiny of a nation and the greater electoral participation helps in making good policies which in turn make the roots of democracy stronger.

He urged election team  to ensure that they reach to the last voter so that maximum voter participation is ensured.

He reiterated that he has observed an overwhelming enthusiasm among the voters during recent DDC elections held in the district and it is our responsibility to promote and motivate the people for ethical voting to elect representatives of choice and value
On the occasion, DEO administered pledge to the participants especially new voters from the district

During the function, various speakers gave brief deliberations upon the topics related to voting and importance of voters in democratic process including ethical voting, vote and gender, voting  behaviour among school children, Voting :  a means to social inclusion, voting behaviour among labours.

Later, DEO also distributed Electoral Photo Identity Cards (EPICs) among newly enrolled voters.

The function was attended by  Dy-DEO, Principal Degree college Pulwama , Tehsildar , Nodel Officer SVEEP, District Officers of various departments , DDC members, BDCs, Sarpanchs, Panchs, BLOs, Asha Workers, members from Handicapped Association, School Children and a large number of newly registered voters.

In order to mark 11th National Voters Day DYS&S Pulwama today organised a snow run  at sports stadium Pulwama.

ADC Pulwama Mr.Shabir Ahmad Raina was the chief guest on the occasion who inaugurated the run and briefed the participants and the officials about the national voters day and also administered pledge to the participants.

Number of boys and girls  across the length and breadth of the district participated in the snow  Run.

On the occasion, ADC S.A Raina flagged off a group of 10 girl skiers for world famous ski resort Gulmarg  who are supposed to be there for 15 days.
