Disaster Management Meeting Held In Tral Sub District

TRAL, 04 Jan: Underscoring the need for greater synergy among the line departments, Additional Deputy Commissioner Tral S A Raina held a disaster management meet on Monday, and asked the officials to put in place efficient measures for maintaining services.

The ADC said that coordination is imperative to make such efforts successful while ensuring services in the Sub District Tral.

According to a press release issued by the ADC’s office, “following fresh snow fall, ADDL Dy Commr TRAL, chaired a high level meeting with various line departments including Power, Water supplies, Public works, Muncipalty, MED, PMGSY, Food supplies etc, while Tehsildar Tral/Aripal was also present in the meeting.”

The press release reads: “Addl Dy Commr TRAL impressed upon the officers to work 24×7 and with unflinching commitment and dedication to ensure that 100% power supply, water supply is restored and roads are cleared of snow by today evening across the entire Sub District Tral.”

Addl Dy Commr observed that all the sectoral officers has emphasised on provision of all basic services to the people in particular power, water, road connectivity, food and petroleum products without any interruption during the snow fall and winter.

In the meeting, Sectoral officers briefed on the status of power and water supply, road clearance and health related issues.

AEE PDD were directed to ensure that damaged power lines are restored today evening across the two Tehsils and to project requirement to augment the buffer stock of transformers, and poles on immediate basis.

It was apprised that power supply has been disrupted in the Sub District due to the fault and efforts are in full swing to restore power supply in all affected areas.

It was informed that 70% of the priority 1 and priority 2 roads across Sub District have been cleared of snow and 100% clearance will be ensured today evening. Men and machinery of the Municipality, MED, PWD have been pressed into service to clear roads, lanes and by lanes in Tral town and other villages. Sufficient dewatering pumps have been kept in readiness to dewater the low lying areas .

It was informed that traffic on some roads in snow bound areas has been disrupted and men and machinery has been deployed to open the roads. Serious efforts are being made to open all the far flung roads at the earliest.

ADDL Dy Commr asked EO Tral to clear the lanes of Arigam in order to provide road connectivity restored. He took overview of Ration stock position and asked Tehsil supply Officers to maintain required ration supply avaible to the people.

He also took overview the workings of Control Room established in the ADDL Dy Commr office Tral, and asked Tehsildar Tral to lead by example so as to infuse motivation among subordinate officers/employees and further involve public Representatives in restoration of essential services and for implementation of developmental and welfare schemes, and further asked need not wait for reports from the field functionaries but should take the lead in identifying and resolving the problem swiftly in the larger interest of the public.
